Widgets
How do I add a Lapse widget to my Home Screen?
First design one in Lapse: open an event, tap New widget, pick a style and size, and tap Save. Then touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, search for Lapse, choose the size and tap Add Widget. Touch and hold the new widget, tap Edit Widget, and pick your design by name.
How do I add one to the Lock Screen?
Design a Lock Screen widget in Lapse (choose Lock as the size). Then touch and hold your Lock Screen, tap Customize → Lock Screen, tap the widget area, choose Lapse, then tap the widget to pick your design.
How does StandBy work?
StandBy appears when your iPhone is charging, locked and turned on its side. It shows Small widgets, so any Small Lapse widget on your Home Screen can appear there. Swipe left in StandBy to reach widgets, then touch and hold to add or change them. Lapse keeps each design’s own background so the text stays readable on the black screen.
Why can’t I switch some styles to another size?
Each style is designed for specific sizes. When a look comes in several sizes, the size buttons appear in the editor; when it’s designed for one size only, the editor says so. Pick a different style in that size from the strip at the top of the Style tab.
My widget isn’t updating.
iOS decides when widgets refresh, but Lapse schedules an update for every change of day, so numbers roll over at midnight. If a widget looks stale, open Lapse once — it refreshes all widgets. Styles with ticking seconds update live. If it still looks wrong, remove the widget and add it again, and let us know.
How do I put Lapse on my Apple Watch?
Install Lapse on your watch (it comes with the iPhone app; check the Watch app on your iPhone → Available Apps if it isn’t there). Your events and saved widgets appear on the watch automatically. To add one to a watch face: touch and hold the face, tap Edit, swipe to Complications, tap a spot, choose Lapse and pick the widget you saved. For the Smart Stack, turn the Digital Crown, touch and hold, tap + and choose Lapse.
My watch isn’t showing my latest changes.
Your iPhone sends changes to the watch whenever you save an event or a widget, and the watch picks them up when it’s nearby and connected. Open Lapse on your iPhone, then on your watch, to nudge it along.
Events and reminders
What’s the difference between a countdown, progress and a count-up?
A countdown counts the days to a date (birthdays and anniversaries can repeat every year). Progress shows how far through a period you are — the year, month, week or day, or dates you set. A count-up counts the days since a date.
Can I count “sleeps”, weeks or hours instead of days?
Yes. Each event has a unit (days, weeks, hours or sleeps), and you can override it per widget in the editor.
I’m not getting reminders.
Check the event has a reminder or milestone alerts turned on, and that notifications for Lapse are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → Lapse. Focus modes can also hold them back. Reminders go off at the time set in Lapse Settings → Reminder time.
Can I import events from my calendar?
Yes: Settings → Import from Calendar. Lapse lists your upcoming events and copies only the ones you pick. It never changes your calendar.
Sharing and stickers
How do I share a widget as an image?
In the widget editor, tap the share button at the top; or in My Widgets, touch and hold a widget and choose Share as image. This is part of Lapse Pro.
How do I use Lapse stickers in Messages?
In a Messages conversation, tap + → More → Lapse. Your saved widgets appear as stickers, showing today’s numbers. Tap to send, or drag one onto a message. Stickers are part of Lapse Pro.
Lapse Pro
What does Lapse Pro include?
Unlimited events (free is up to three), all 129 styles plus new drops, every font, palette, pattern and photo background, sharing widgets as images and iMessage stickers, and 12 extra app icons. It’s monthly or yearly (the yearly plan starts with a 1-week free trial), or a one-time lifetime purchase you can share with Family Sharing.
How do I restore or cancel Lapse Pro?
On a new iPhone or after reinstalling, tap Settings → Restore purchase. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings → Manage subscription in Lapse, or iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
What happens to my widgets if Pro ends?
Nothing is deleted. Widgets using a Pro style switch to a free style and show a small note, and events beyond the first three become read-only. Everything comes back as it was if you renew.
Your data
Where are my events stored?
Only on your iPhone, shared with Lapse’s own widgets and stickers. There are no accounts or servers. See the privacy policy.
How do I move my events to a new iPhone?
Lapse’s data is included in your iPhone backup. Restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one, and your events and designs come along.
What should I include when reporting a bug?
What you did, what happened and what you expected, plus the app version (shown at the bottom of Settings) and your iPhone model and iOS version. Screenshots help a lot.
