Privacy Policy
- Lapse doesn’t collect, sell or share your personal data. There are no servers and you don’t create an account.
- Your events, widget designs and photos stay on your devices: your iPhone or iPad, and your Apple Watch if you use Lapse there.
- There are no ads, analytics or tracking tools in the app.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Lapse app for iPhone and iPad, its Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, its iMessage sticker app, the Lapse app and complications for Apple Watch (together, “Lapse” or “the app”) and this website. Lapse is made by Lavanya Tatiparthi (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@laavi.in.
2. What we collect
Nothing. Lapse has no servers, no user accounts and no sign-in. The app doesn’t send your events, dates, notes, photos or any other personal information to us or to anyone else. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it doesn’t use your location, contacts or microphone.
On the App Store this is shown as “Data Not Collected”.
3. Data on your device
What you create — events (name, dates, type, icon, colour, notes and reminder choices), widget designs, any photos you add to a widget, and your settings — is stored on your iPhone in a private app container that only Lapse, its widgets and its iMessage stickers can read. Widgets and stickers are drawn on your iPhone from that data.
Apple Watch. If you use Lapse on Apple Watch, your iPhone sends a copy of your events, widget designs and settings (not photos) straight to your paired watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity, so your watch app and complications can show them. It goes from your iPhone to your watch only — never to us.
Like any app’s data, it’s included in your iPhone’s own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you’ve turned those on in iOS. Those backups are handled by Apple and by you, and we can’t access them. Lapse has no sync of its own.
4. Permissions
Lapse only asks for a permission when you use the feature that needs it, and works without any of them.
- Calendars — only if you choose Import from Calendar. Lapse reads your calendar to list upcoming events, and copies the name and date of the ones you pick into Lapse. It never changes your calendar and doesn’t keep anything you didn’t pick.
- Notifications — only if you turn on a reminder or milestone alerts for an event. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server.
- Photos — when you add a photo to a widget, you pick it in Apple’s photo picker. Lapse only receives that one photo (never your library) and saves a smaller copy so your widget can show it.
5. Images and stickers
When you share a widget as an image, or send one as an iMessage sticker, the picture is created on your iPhone and goes only where you send it (for example Messages, Mail, Photos or AirDrop). Once you share it, the app or person you share it with handles it under their own policy.
6. Feedback and support
If you choose Send feedback, your email app opens a message to us, prefilled with the app version, iOS version and device model so we can help. Nothing is sent unless you send the email. We use what you write only to reply to you and to improve Lapse, and we don’t share it. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
7. Apple and the App Store
Lapse Pro purchases are made through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, email, card details or Apple Account information. The app only asks the App Store whether Pro is active, and remembers the answer on your iPhone so Pro works offline and in your widgets.
Apple handles app downloads, purchases and updates under its own privacy policy. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage statistics. These don’t identify you and don’t include anything you’ve created in Lapse.
8. Children
Lapse isn’t directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Because the app collects no personal data, it doesn’t knowingly collect data from children.
9. Deleting your data
Delete any event in the app (open it and tap Delete event); its widgets go with it. Deleting the Lapse app removes all of its data from your iPhone, including widget photos.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you have rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, and to object to how it’s processed. Because your Lapse data never leaves your device, you can exercise these rights directly in the app — view, edit or delete any event or widget. We don’t sell or share personal information. For anything else, contact us.
11. This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts; its font is served from this site. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; like any web host, GitHub may record technical information such as your IP address in server logs for security purposes, under the GitHub Privacy Statement. We don’t receive or use those logs.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled, we’ll also mention it in the app’s release notes. We will never start collecting your data without asking first.
